Is crossfit fading off? What is the next fitness trend?

Many people think of a specific exercise when they hear the word crossfit, but what they don’t know that it is actually a lifestyle. A combination of rather demanding workouts and a healthy diet. Crossfit started its journey in the early 2000s. It wasn’t until 15 years later that it became very popular.

Users find the concept very effective as it is a blend of calisthenics, olympic weightlifting, compound gym workouts and gymnastics. Even though it is becoming less popular among the worldwide fitness community, it is still a favorite type of workout for soldiers and firefighters.

New year, new trends

Almost every year we have a new fitness trend peeking through. 2020 is no different. Although many fitness trends have kept their popularity within the fitness communities, it is becoming more and more obvious that crossfit is being replaced by new ones and it is no wonder.

There are many reasons why people workout – some of them are working out to lose weight, some of them want to gain it. Some people want to build their stamina and muscle, while others want to feel healthier and more fit. Working out is hard and it takes a lot of will and effort, so keeping the users engaged and happy is the ultimate number one for the fitness industry. That is why we see new trends sneaking up on us every once in a while.

Here are some of the most talked about in the 2020:

Yoga inspired workouts

There are a lot of yoga inspired workouts out there. Yoga, although an ancient practice movement, it is becoming more and more popular these days. It focuses on combining the physical, mental and spiritual practices, which people find motivating and inspiring after long days at work and an accumulated mental stress.

At-home workout

With new technology flow, it is now more convenient to workout at home in the comfort of your living room. Apps, Youtube channels and Instagram’s IGTV, is making it easy for people to workout at home without having to think about commuting, bad weather and the transport expenses. They can squeeze in a workout in their busy schedule easily with the press of a button on their TV remote controller or tapping on their phone app.

Group workouts

Millenials and GenZ are making about 80% of the fitness population in gyms, nowadays. They are known by their social skills and that’s why it is no wonder that they prefer working out in groups. Although group workout is nothing new, it is becoming more and more attractive for its social benefits.

Dance workouts

In the pool of the workout trends, dance workouts are thriving. From Zumba to LesMills program, they take exercise to the next level. Having fun while keeping your body toned and perfectly shaped, is what they all preach. And if you have ever seen a Zumba class, you heard the screaming, shouting and laughing. It is fun, engaging and inviting and that’s why people love it.

How Milennials Are Changing Work and Business Culture

Who are Millennials, and why are we transforming every inch of the business landscape? We are self-starters, go-getters and agile entrepreneurs. We don’t believe in hand-me-down axioms, but work towards re-purposing them for contemporary contexts. We don’t just do different things- we do things differently. We like aesthetics, and take note when we receive something that exceeds our expectations. Our values are grounded in doing the extraordinary, and in shaping the environment we live in- making an impact on businesses, cultures and demographics. We are an enthusiastic bunch with an appetite for growth, skills, and revel in personal engagement. Businesses are dynamically adjusting and readjusting themselves to be able to service this unique brand of people. Manufacturing, Customer service, Logistics, and good ol’ retail are going through a massive shift in terms of the User Experience that they offer. Besides being tech-savvy, we Millennials have our own set of characteristics that distinguish us from the rest.

We like local- Stereotypes don’t excite us, and from the coffee we grab to the clothes we flaunt, we look for that special oomph factor that sets us apart from our peers. We tend to favor the friendly earthy café down the block, which gives us free WiFi, as opposed to a chain of restaurants. We shop local, looking for customizations that highlight our own personal branding- we are all about our personas. We are looking for the engagement, the personal touch- we want to be able to interact with what we want. So what does this do for the businesses that we interact with? They are constantly compelled to stay on the game- be innovative, and keep up with the changing times. Their very thinking undergoes a paradigm shift.

We enjoy the journey, as much as the destination- We love businesses that focus on our experience, rather than just the ultimate product or service. We take cues from the way your staff welcomes us, to the thank you’s that come later. We like the smiles and the extra mile when you find us exactly what we’re looking for, even if it isn’t part of your job description. We like to know that we are important to your business, that we are helping you and ourselves in some way. We believe in growing together, and have soft spots for those influencers who have truly changed the way we do something. We invest in the relationships and the rapport, and our decisions rest on the smaller, finer things in life.

We do our homework- Even though we are impulsive shoppers, looking for the next big storm, we take the time to study what we want. We like to weigh our benefits and our ROI. Our time and money mean a lot to us, and we ensure we invest them appropriately. Right from the movie we watch to the restaurant that we dine in, we like to check our boxes. We trust our peers, and reviews mean the world to us. This urges businesses to consistently push themselves to be the best version of themselves, because they know the world is watching. We influence the other generations that we interact with- our predecessors and sucessors, and we have a lot riding on that- we know that we have to be right in what we endorse.

We like to support causes- We embrace our need to be socially responsible and active- we take pleasure in giving back to the society that raised us. We like passionate, selfless and collaborative people, who are harbingers of change and transformation. You appeal to our hearts and minds, with authenticity and innocence, and you’ve won us over. We dispense with hackneyed schemes that loot us of our hard-earned money, which brought us nowhere closer to the site of impact. We are all about lifelines and how we use them- if we have helped a child in need of a surgery today, it makes us feel good to have contributed to someone’s welfare.

5 Solid Negotiation Tactics During a Meeting

Negotiation is the backing force behind getting as much benefits from a business meeting as you want. Being versed in pulling the right strings during a bargaining process will help you get the upper hand and obtain what you want. Here are 5 foolproof techniques to step up your negotiation prowess and draw a positive result from a meeting.

1. Tame anxiety

Composure is a crucial factor in a negotiating process. Being in a good control of your feelings and inner senses makes you confident with your plan and ideas, and prevents you from committing mistakes, enough to ruin your career. It is common, even, to experienced negotiators to go through a pre-meeting anxiety, marked by sweaty palms, pounding heart and burning chest. If you will be able to tame this negative nervousness, by turning it into a positive excitement, you will gain the total control over the situation. To do so, take some meditation and repel the importance label attached to the meeting, assigning it as a simple task you will perform everything well.

2. Open up

It is common to be cautious and reserved during a negotiation process. Many choose to hide their skeletons in the closet and be completely stiff in regard to revealing some personal information that might defrost the communication. This a wrong approach that compromises outcomes, and prevents your partner from trusting you fully. In order to ease the tension and get the negotiation flow easily, it is relevant to provide some information about yourself. Speak about your personality, hobbies, and future plans that would have your counterpart reciprocate and create closer bonds.

3. Choose open-ended questions

Asking questions that require a “yes” or a “no” are not productive and inhibit the conversation, by putting your partner under pressure. A best choice is to ask questions that engage him into retelling, giving details and expressing his opinion. Thus, you will know more about his intentions and build up trust that will facilitate the negotiation process.

4. Harness the silence

Most people tend to avoid uncomfortable silences during a conversation, especially during business negotiation when voicing your point, and counteracting poor offers is crucial. It might be a grave mistake, as silence can be a reinforcing element to help you gather your thoughts and make up your mind. Do not fire with counter-arguments and great claims, as your partner finished to speak. Take your time to weigh all aspects and issue an effective defence and a stronger position. Also, silence is a good way to calm down and improve your listening abilities.

5. Assume the first offer

Contrary to popular belief, issuing the first price is not as detrimental as it might seem. Many think that it is best to let the counterpart make his game, and gather all information about him, before stepping in with your offer. In fact, making the first offer means to issue a point of reference that will make each next offer revolve around. This works as an anchor price, around which both parties will orientate their further negotiation plan. The best choice is an offer which goes slightly beyond partner’s reservation price. Thus he will stay engaged and focus on reaching his goal.

The best type of leadership and management to move a company forward

Essential management aptitudes are important to maintain a private venture. Some entrepreneurs trust that leading versus overseeing is vital. As a general rule, you should have the capacity to both lead and manage.

What makes a decent administrator? There are real business management styles and skills to center around; particularly for entrepreneurs. In case you’re the proprietor or administrator of a private company, it’s imperative to comprehend what those basic administration aptitudes are and to endeavor to fuse them into your practices. Why? Since a few abilities are more fruitful than others and because a few styles will draw in your employees, while others will disconnect with them.

Business administration aptitudes, for example, planning, central leadership, critical thinking, controlling and coordinating, and estimating and detailing are required for the day to day task.

Utilizing their independent venture design, viable administrators coordinate the business activity. Correspondences, benchmarking, following and estimating are strategies and procedures that they use to check their heading, to change the arrangement (if essential), and to propel the business. Great supervisors act to accomplish the coveted outcomes, and they oversee individuals and assets to get where they need to go.

Understanding what makes a decent manager, implies understanding what rouses representatives. How would you construct a domain and culture that urges workers to take an interest? How would you expand representative profitability and worker fulfillment; at the same time? How would you enroll the best ability, and after that keep them? How would you prepare your staff to tackle issues, decide, and include others all the while? These are only a portion of the difficulties, and obligations, of overseeing.

As a manager, you have to comprehend what the basic business administration styles are (despotic, paternalistic, just, and detached are the most widely recognized styles). Furthermore, you have to comprehend what your style is, and how that style influences business comes about.

Four Business Management Styles:

Totalitarian: The manager settles on every one of the choices; an “order and control” (battle ready) administration style. The emphasis is on business; doesn’t need any individual ‘stuff’ to act as a burden. The advantage is that choices are made rapidly. The cost is in high representative turn-over as workers discover this style troublesome, and distressing.

Paternalistic: The manager makes all decisions (or a large portion of them) yet centers around what’s best for workers. The advantage is that workers feel the business is dealing with them. The cost is that representatives don’t do what needs to be done – they are uninvolved and have little in danger.

Fair: The administrator needs contribution from the entire ‘group,’ and more significant part runs the show. Regularly great choices are made, and workers feel engaged with the business (the advantage to this style) however the procedure is moderate, and you can’t make everybody glad.

Detached: The administrator surrenders obligation to the workers; and calls it an assignment. The advantage is that representatives regularly advance and learn in this condition. The cost is that the bearing is scattered and there can be many false begins because there is no genuine director.

Managers regularly utilize more than one style, contingent upon the circumstance. If conceptualizing creative new item thoughts are the present concentration, at that point, the supervisor might need to utilize a majority rule or cool style. On the off chance that a choice about keeping or terminating an underperforming employee must be made, the supervisor may need to utilize an autocratic or paternalistic style (ideally not a majority rule or inactive style).

In most private ventures, the entrepreneur is likewise the chief and the pioneer. In your company, ensure that you have a decent comprehension of your business administration styles, aptitudes, and characteristics and figure out how to control them and utilize them as fundamental.

What are the Implications of a Country like China Becoming a Superpower?

We all read headlines in various newspapers, websites, TV or radio stations that the China is becoming a world super power. Currently, they are becoming stronger every day, as Chinese National Statistical Bureau announced that economic growth in that country is more than 9% – which is far more than expected. And as they announce, it will grow even more.

Their big rivals, Japan, are not so far ahead now because the Chinese economy is growing much faster than the other countries. It would have been said that the current global crisis does not hit them.

Their workforce is one of the cheapest in the world, but its production is massive. However, their success is due to their big military strength.

We all know that China was once a very poor country, which struggled to keep pace with the then world capitalist forces, like USA, West Germany or Great Britain. The Communist government then reversed them, but now it looks like they are on a good way. You are probably wondering, is there any consequences?

We already mentioned that the Chinese workforce is very cheap, which of course can only destroy the economies of more developed countries. Most of the world’s big companies are going to China to build factories, hire people and pay them at least 10x less than their domestic worker. This led to an increase in the unemployment percentage drastically.

During 2015, China’s defense policy has undergone radical changes. Changes that helped China to become one of the strongest military force in the world. In March 2013, China changed its behavior in the area around the disputed islands of Senkaku (Djaoiu). Then – instead of unarmed ships – for the first time they sent the warships and airplanes of the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) warships. This measure had a serious political effect.

In November 2013, Beijing introduced a good part of the East China Sea into its PWR identification zone. In that zone, the United States and Japan began demonstrative flights with their own warplanes, to show that they did not recognize the Chinese side’s decisions.

Although in such situations China does not yet directly use force, it cannot be said that they are as much passive. The first month after the introduction of the identification zone, China, in response to the fall of foreign warplanes into the zone, has already aired its aviation for 51 times. Chinese warplanes made a total of 87 flights.

Their cooperation with North Korea is also well-known. North Korea is probably the most dangerous country in the world at the moment. They threaten to start the Third World War. However, nobody currently knows what kind of military force or nuclear weapons they have. The US government thinks they do not have any nuclear weapons, but they cannot be sure.

The world is currently in the global economic crisis and in history it is known that the production of weapons significantly increases the economy in the country. So, we can only hope that country like China will find some other solutions to rise their economy, and leave the world in peace.

Ways in Which Corporations Can Reduce Their Carbon Footprint to Improve Environmental Sustainability

Corporations globally are competing to minimize their carbon emissions which make it one of the major environmental concerns. Carbon footprints are environmental capacity of the overall greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) caused by individuals, products or organizations.

Organizations measure their carbon footprint by using the following steps: explaining their organizational boundaries, determining the origin of emissions, the duration of the emissions, methods of data collection and finding the emissions factors to utilize.

After calculating carbon footprints, organizations are left with work of searching for appropriate remedies and cost effective procedures to minimize the effects of these emissions.

Here are the recommended that can be used to minimize carbon footprint.

1. Minimize The Consumption Of Energy

Energy consumption is the largest contributor to the emission of carbon footprint, it accounts up to 50-60% of carbon footprint.

To minimize energy consumption organizations should aim their focus on these key sections:

· Heating which comprises of proper insulation, frequent heating sustenance, investing in modernized heating technologies such as condensing boilers and heat pumps.

· Office equipment and furniture, actions involve using digitalized power shutdown programs and switching off the equipment after completing a task.

· Lighting, companies are recommended to use energy saving lighting equipments.

· Cooling, it involves frequent maintenance of cooling systems and using advanced cooling technologies.

2. Recycling

Waste that is send to landfill brings about emission of methane gas which is one of the greenhouse gases. To minimize emissions extracted from waste products, organizations should aim on achieving an all-inclusive recycling program and potentially analyze the opportunities of pyre via Energy from Waste dump (EfW). But EfW emits greenhouse gasses during the process of pyre the extraction of energy from waste products is more compared to the gases extracted from other thermal energy such as gas and coal.

3. Reducing The Amount of Flights

Business trips can be a significant contributor of organizational carbon footprint. In order to make this effective business trips can be reciprocated with video or audio conferencing. Also, companies should countercheck their business travel policies and posses methods that confirm flights are a necessity.

4. Minimize the Consumption Of Fossil Fuel

Fuel consumption for automobiles is a contributing factor to organization’s carbon footprint. To minimize fuel consumption from automobiles, organizations can encourage and advocate more sustainable ways of travelling employees.

Actions to implement this comprise of investing in advanced sustainable organization’s fleet of automobiles, car pool schemes, consumption of green taxis, and the establishment of a cycling program for employees.

5. Implementation Of Sustainable Procurement

A large proportion of companies’ carbon footprint is an outcome of fixed carbon emissions from their source and their supply chain. Goods bought and are connected to carbon footprint emissions should be properly stored, transported in secure carriers and after using them they should be properly disposed.

Companies with massive supply chains can minimize their carbon footprint by implementing sustainable procurement fundamentals.

Efficient actions to minimize carbon footprints can assist organizations in saving lots of money.

Companies and organizations are now viewing climate change as a real business hazard and also a risk to humanity. The easiest way to do this to identify and prioritize methods, considering the effects of carbon footprints on the environment, and search for appropriate remedies that can be implemented to solve this problem.

Are religions throughout history and today a good thing or a bad thing

We’ve all met that person who picks on their gay neighbor because his sexual orientation goes ”against God’s way.” But we’ve also all met that person who has donated thousands of dollars to their church’s charity fund because “God wants us to help those in need.”

Religion in the modern world certainly has its fair share of pros and cons. Many people use their religion as motivation to do good, but there are also many people who use their religion as motivation for evil. It’s hard to say if religion is a good thing or a bad thing because everyone interprets it differently and there’s such a wide spectrum. It’s not black or white.

According to a 2014 article in the Huffington Post, American religious organizations have helped former gang members get their lives back on track, taught children how to care for the environment, helped their local communities heal after deadly school shootings, provided health care and clean water to poor areas in Ethiopia and advocated for inclusion of LGBT people and people with disabilities. Many of the examples were found via the #ReligionDoingGood hashtag on social media.

I remember attending my city’s local LGBT Pride Parade last summer and being pleasantly surprised at how many religious organizations were participating, and spreading a message of love and inclusion for people of all sexual orientations. After witnessing the gay kids in my high school get picked on by the “good” Christian kids, it was a refreshing change that gave me hope for the future.

A parade isn’t going to solve everything though. We still have a long way to go before hate is truly erased. Although religion can be great for bringing communities together, it can also tear them apart. The ongoing wars involving the Sunni and Shia Muslims in the Middle East are a prime example. Those two sects have been dealing with conflicts for centuries, according to a February 2017 article by the Pulitzer Center.

Religious conflicts aren’t just happening in the Middle East though. They’re happening in the US too. While they’re usually not deadly conflicts, they can be just as dangerous to a person’s well-being.

According to a 2016 article from the Christian Broadcasting Network’s website, domestic violence and abuse toward women is much more likely to happen in conservative Christian households than in non-religious households. These women are taught from a young age that their sole purpose in life is to “submit” to their husband’s demands and if they step out of line, he’s going to do whatever it takes to maintain control. They’re refusing to speak up due to fear of physical violence, and refusing to leave their abusive marriages because of finances and their children.

The women who do escape usually end up having a difficult time getting over the trauma. It doesn’t help that their religion pressures them to get married before they can drink alcohol legally, often to the first man who shows interest in them, and then to have multiple children soon after. They’re making very mature life decisions at a time when they’re most likely nowhere near mature enough.

It’s important to be aware of both the positive and the negative aspects of religion. Religion should be used as motivation to spread kindness toward everyone, no matter who they are or where they came from. When religion is interpreted as a very strict, black and white formula for how to live one’s life, that’s when the negative aspects come out. Just because a particular strict formula works for one person doesn’t mean it will work for everyone, and it’s important to be aware of that before judging anyone else. But at the end of the day, as long as someone is happy with their life and their religion or lack there of, they should just do whatever floats their boat. It’s not my place to judge them.

Make 2017 A Year of Success With These 5 Business Tips

A year is all that an entrepreneur needs in order to be successful. Now that we’re well into 2017, the plans of some of the most successful entrepreneurs have begun to unfold, giving everyone the chance to analyze and see what are the trends for success in 2017.

We have gathered some of the fastest growing business trends of the year, in order to help everyone get a head start over the competition:

1. Tech implementation

Technology has started evolving at a truly impressive rate in the last few years and this has had consequences on all aspects of human life. Now, in 2017, there is even talk of the first commercially available VR headset being right around the corner. With the increasingly faster development of mobile technologies and VR tech, businesses have the unique opportunity of truly getting in touch with their clients.

AI, machine learning and big data analytics are the perfect tools for both large and small companies who want to enter a world where there are no more barriers between employees and managers, or between companies and customers.

Technologies such as Paypal, Apple Pay and Google Pay are only a few of the tools that should not be ignored this year. They have become second nature to people, and most of them have come to expect companies to offer them some of these features.

2. Long-Term is the only way to go

Any successful entrepreneur knows that the single most important thing in business is to plan for the long-term. Also, most people attempt to set goals that are unachievable. 2017 is the year of realism when it comes to businesses.

Make long-term plans and set realistic goals for both a company’s employees and for the company itself. This trend has been around for years, but has only now started to grow in popularity. Business owners have come to understand that in order to make profit, a company needs a solid plan.

3. Innovate and look for inspiration in unexpected places

The most important thing when trying to develop a company is to understand the need for constant innovation. As time goes by, people tend to get more and more easily bored. In order to not only survive, but to thrive in the current society, it is important to constantly try to find new ways of engaging clients and keep them coming for more.

Inspiration for these changes rarely comes by itself and it is important to keep an open mind. Solution for problems can come from anywhere and anyone. For all intents and purposes, everyone and everything is a resource when it comes to the development of a business. Use everyone’s expertise and opinions to the benefit of the company.

4. Keep hiring young people

A company’s employees are its most important resource. Unfortunately, even when taking experience into consideration, an aging workforce can be detrimental to the development of a company. Try to continually hire new people, young people. This will give the company an incredible precious commodity: insight into the way in which the new generations think.

5. Adapt to the new markets

Human society revolves around the concept of constant change. Nowadays, things have begun to speed up and it is important to do what it’s necessary in order to keep pace. People’s tastes and preferences can change from one year to another and while it’s true that trends can come back, that is not a risk that should ever be taken.
